Job summary

An opportunity has arisen for a nurse with or without relevant experience to join our team and be a part of our Endoscopy Unit.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, independent and committed nurse to join our highly motivated team. We offer a supportive, friendly, and caring environment and an abundance of development opportunities and practice development for experienced nurses. The unit operates from 8am to 7pm, 7 days a week, and is committed to delivering a high-quality patient focused service. As part of your development, you will have the opportunity to participate such as out of hours rota for Gastrointestinal bleed, nurse consent, pre assessment, non-endoscopic procedures like Manometry, Small Bowel and Colon Capsule Endoscopy, Breath Tests, Fibroscan, specialist procedure like EUS, EBUS, ERCP, Spyglass and Medical Thoracoscopy

Main duties of the job

The post holder will provide specialist clinical support and knowledge to patients within the Endoscopy Unit.

Act as an effective role model and demonstrate effective organisational and leadership skills acting up for senior staff in their absence in the clinical areas.

Contribute towards developing and maintaining a suitable and stimulating learning environment for the ongoing professional development for professional staff and students.

Support the Head of Nursing in the establishment of a good working atmosphere and in making the most efficient/ effective use of staff, supplies and service

Participate in Emergency Out of hours rota

Internally the post holder will develop effective working relationships with patients, carers, relatives and all members of the multidisciplinary team.

Externally this includes Locum Doctors and Nurses from other organizations , Product Specialists coming to the Department and carers of patients coming from own home and care homes.

To have made an effective contribution to reaching the Trust's vision, strategic objectives and key work programmes.

To provide high quality care to the patients attending the Endoscopy Unit in relevant areas of practice and manage areas of practice.
