Job summary

The post holder will provide support and at times, leadership in the Resuscitation room undertaking the role of the Resuscitation room supervisor. You will provide specialist emergency nursing advice to co-workers and juniors working throughout the department. The role is to work primarily, but not exclusively, in the resuscitation area .You will support and lead staff to ensure high quality care is delivered to those attending the department. The role carries continuing responsibility for the supervision of junior staff throughout the department, as delegated by the Senior charge nurses within Emergency Services, together with the provision of a twenty-four-hour expert emergency nurse service.

The role includes working closely and effectively with the multi-disciplinary team in the management of the Emergency Department Resuscitation room. This would be led primarily by Band 7 resus lead and band 7 resus CPE

This includes the support and leadership provided to nursing and support staff within the Emergency Department and across the Emergency Floor. The role also includes the continuing support for the effective delivery of the philosophy, policies, and standards of care and morale of the department in line with the Trust values -PPPP.

Main duties of the job

As the senior Emergency Care Nurse, in resus, you will be responsible for the daily operational management and service delivery process within the Resuscitation room along with the line management of a nursing team, working closely with the MDT.You will be competent and confident in advanced skills or be willing to take on advanced skills and further training.
