Job summary
We are looking for a qualified radiographer to join the Radiology team at Ashford and St Peter's Hospital NHS Trust. You must possess excellent communication skills, work well within a team and be able to undertake general radiographic examinations to a high standard. The post is ideal for newly qualified radiographers or those wishing to further their knowledge in a busy A/E department.
You will be expected to take part in the shift rota which includes nights and weekends. Along with rotating across sites between the St Peter's and Ashford Site. This will include the Woking CDC when experience in CT has been gained.
We actively encourage staff to undertake continuing professional development and support staff training, development and advancing radiography roles.
Main duties of the job
- To perform and maintain high standards of radiographic imaging as determined by the work rota
- You will rotate through Xray, theatres, fluoroscopy, dentals and then CT and IR with further training given.
- To participate in the shift system and weekend duties.
- To participate in the QA of plain film equipment
- To be involved with service delivery and service improvement for the benefit of the patient
- To maintain high clinical standards, particularly regarding patient care, clinical risk and Health and Safety
- To liaise with other Health Care Professionals and departmental staff on a daily basis
- To continue to develop one's own knowledge, practice and development through continued professional development
- To understand the implications of the Health and Safety at Work Act and ensure a safe working environment for patients, staff, visitors and staff according to the Trusts' Health and Safety Policy
