Job summary

We are looking for a friendly, motivated and highly organised person with good I.T. skills and a flexible approach to join our team on Falcon Ward.You will be first point of contact for patients and visitors, and receive them in a professional and courteous manner. You will be supporting the team with clerical / administrative duties therefore previous experience is desirable but not essential (full training will be given). You are required to have excellent communication skills both written and verbal, be customer care focused and have a positive can-do attitude. You may be required to work various shifts per week so flexibility is essential. We provide a 24 hours 365 days service a year, this will include bank holidays and weekends.We pride ourselves as being a friendly and enthusiastic team with passion for excellence. Main duties of the job

o To act as the first point of contact for all patients and visitors to Falcon Ward.o To be proficient on Cerner to admit, transfer and discharge patients in a timely manner. To be able update patient demographics as required.o To maintain patient records and be proficient in the Cerner electronic medical records system and Viewpoint where applicable.o To be proficient in the Trust Oracle system to order equipment and supplies as required or process requisitions for repair as necessary.o To be proficient in the use of e-mail, responding to queries and e-mails.o Maintain confidentiality at all timeso Fault reporting and follow up/ liaise with suppliers as necessary.o To open post for the ward/department.o To book patient transport and translators as required.o To undertake photocopying and other general clerical duties as required for the ward/department.o Develop skills in the job role to reflect the changing needs of the service.o To assist with training of new starters within the role.o Assist in training others in the use of relevant IT systems and processes.o To work flexibly and as part of a team, covering colleagues for annual leave and sickness as required, ensuring the service is covered at all times.

  • NVQ 2 and or 3 level in a relevant subject or equivalent level of qualification or significant equivalent previous proven experience
