Job summary
The post holder will be expected to undertake, clinical investigations including Phlebotomy, ECG and some patient health screening, as well providing administrative support in Preoperative assessment as required. Weare looking for an individual who is committed to providing quality care, highly motivated to learn and develop further and want to be a part of a dedicated team. You must have excellent interpersonal skills and strong patient focus.
Flexibility in working Location /Days worked each week is essential to this role. .
Excellent spoken & written English required.
Computer literacy is essential as will be required to use Electronic Patient Record, request blood tests, draft simple letters and order stock for the department via the Oracle ordering system
Main duties of the job
Clinical
In collaboration with a registered practitioner, is able to assess the patient's needs and understand knowledge that underpins this assessment.
To accurately feedback to a registered practitioner and highlight abnormal observations taken.
To demonstrate skills of time management and prioritisation of workload with support from a registered practitioner.
- Undertake basic patient assessment observations and investigations including: height, weight, blood pressure, ECG, MRSA screen, and phlebotomy.
- Undertake health screening questionnaires with patients and accurately document findings.
- Convey preoperative preparation information to patients who attend clinic in collaboration with a registered practitioner.
- Follow agreed protocols/algorithm to determine a patient's pathway in the assessment process.

cross site cover (John Radcliffe & Churchill)
