A full time / part-time post as a Clinical Fellow in Advanced Airway management and Major cancer surgery anaesthesia is available at Oxford University Hospitals. This post is aimed at suitably qualified anaesthetists.

We are delighted to advertise a twelve-month clinical Fellowship in Advanced Airway Management and Anaesthesia for Major Cancer Surgery. This post is an exciting opportunity for a post-CCT anaesthetist or a senior anaesthetic registrar to join our team and develop their advanced airway skills. We pride ourselves in training excellence and received excellent feedback from our previous Fellows.

We are seeking an exceptional individual to join the Nuffield Department of Anaesthetics for this one-year Airway Fellowship and anaesthesia for major cancer surgery. This unique fellowship is highly structured, combining didactic, clinical, simulation and research components. However, the Fellow will be allowed the flexibility to mould the programme to their specific requirements. The Fellow will be provided with an outstanding opportunity to manage complex cases, and to acquire state-of-the-art advanced airway management skill sets in real life situations.

Main duties of the job

The post-holder's duties will cover in and out-of-hours duties across all three sites.

Opportunities for teaching, training and research will be available within the Fellowship programme and will be agreed prior to commencement of the fellowship.

The post-holder will participate in clinical governance activities, including clinical audit, clinical effectiveness, risk management, quality improvement activities as required by the Trust, and external accrediting bodies.

The post-holder will be required to keep himself/herself fully up-to-date with their relevant area of practice and to be able to demonstrate this to the satisfaction of the Trust. Professional or study leave will be granted at the discretion of the Trust, in line with the prevailing Terms and Conditions of Service, to support appropriate study, postgraduate training activities, relevant CME courses and other appropriate personal development needs.
