Our Estates workforce is vital to our organisation, without them our front-line Doctors, Nurses and Allied Health Professional cannot deliver the excellent care to our patients we strive for. As an Estates staff within the Trust, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our Estates operations across the hospital.

Main duties of the job
Centralised Recruitment:
We have adopted a centralised hiring process for Estates support roles in bands 2-3 and 4-5. This means you apply once and are considered for multiple positions within our organisation, saving time for both candidates and managers while accessing a broader talent pool.

Detailed JD & Main responsibilities:

To take delivery of all food products following agreed protocols and food safety standards;
-
Whilst storing stock, rotate and check all use by dates, removing out of date items;
-
Assist with the preparation of food requirements for the meal services, including the preparation of sandwiches and salads, ensuring the correct use by date and allergen information is displayed;
-
As part of a team, ensure that all food is delivered within the agreed service delivery times;
-
As part of a team check ward kitchen fridges and record fridge temperatures in individual record keeping books, taking appropriate action if the temperature is not within agreed range;
-
As part of a team to deliver food items across the hospital site including patient provisions to wards and to restock the main Ward Catering store area;
-
As part of a team, take part in the cleaning and replenishment of the site vending machines ensuring that stock is rotated and that out of date items are removed and that these items are recorded on the food wastage system;

Ensure that all vending machine defects are reported and promptly addressed;
-
As part of a team to clean and replenish the snack box fridge, for out of hours use, collecting the completed delivery notes and returning these back to the Catering office;
-
As part of a team deliver and collect patient menus to and from wards, returning them to the Catering office for input onto the menu collation system within the agreed timeframe;To liaise with other hospital staff as and when required.
