Job summary
The Blenheim Head & Neck Outpatient Department at the Churchill Hospital runs clinics for a variety of specialties.
To manage, communicate with, and lead a team of nursing staff, consisting of Registered nurses, nursing assistants, AHPs and technicians to deliver high standards of care within Outpatients.
To manage, communicate with and lead the nursing team and the day to day management of it
To manage service needs within the department relating to Government and Trust initiatives, ensuring targets are defined, met and continued.
To proactively manage Outpatients Department, ensuring staff, service needs, trust and unit targets are met.
To manage a defined budget.
Main duties of the job
To be responsible for outpatient staff, adhering to related Trust policies
Ensure the patient's journey is as smooth as possible, looking and responding to the complex needs of individual patients and multiple services within the department. Resolving any patient complaints, maintaining confidentiality at all times, ensuring sensitive information is managed and cascaded appropriately, by working closely with, communicating and liaising with: Clinical Lead for the service, the consultants, doctors, AHP's, GP's, other managers/departments, community/primary care staff, Directorate service managers, and each of all specialty teams.
