Are you a UK registered pharmacist with previous experience of aseptics or manufacturing?The role is an exciting one offering you the opportunity to focus on the aseptic dispensing of doses for patients in clinical trials or other novel agents. As the Accountable Pharmacist, you will be leading a dedicated team of pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, SMT and healthcare scientists who are passionate about research. Can you show that you combine excellent technical knowledge and skills with those of positive people management?The other aspects of the role is to support our manufacturing units for radiopharmaceuticals and hyperpolarised gas. Perhaps this isn't something you have done before; we can provide training.You will work alongside a knowledgeable QA team to ensure that GMP and QAAPS standards continue to be delivered.CTAS was recently (March 2025) assessed as Low Risk by the SPS QA inspector and you will be in good hands. Main duties of the job

The main responsibilities are to provide the leadership and management to deliver aseptically prepared and manufactured medicines to patients whether as part of clinical trials or specialist care. You will be the Accountable Pharmacist for the Clinical Trials Aseptic Services (CTAS) & responsiblefor the management, leadership and co-ordination of the unlicensed unit providing injectable Investigational Medicinal Products, Advanced Therapy Medicinal Products (ATMPs) and selected high risk injectable medicines to all trust divisions..You will be responsible for the aseptic preparation of doses for a portfolio of c150 trials and ensuring that GCP requirements are met.For the MHRA MS Radiopharmacy & Hyperpolarising Gas Units you will line manage the Production Manager(s) and ensure the service is run in compliance with current Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP).You will work closely with colleagues to ensure that clinical trials for IMPs are set-up in accordance with sponsor requirements and align with UK, trust and pharmacy best practices.You will act as a role model and source of expert advice for pharmacy and clinical staff for aseptic preparation and ATMPs.You will act to ensure the safety of the patient and their experience remains at the centre of the service provided, while supporting the well-being of staff across the teams.You will be supporting the building and commissioning of a new CTAS facility to further enable its extensive research portfolio.
