Job summary

Provide a full maternity care pathway to a caseload of approximately 30 women and their families. This will include providing continuity during the antenatal, intrapartum and postnatal period, with the aim of improving outcomes for women and their babies. In addition, meet the key performance indicators both locally and nationally.

Main Geographical area will be Greater Leys (OX4).

In addition, meet the key performance indicators both locally and nationally.

VISION & PHILOSOPHY OF THE CASE-LOADING TEAM:

The team vision & philosophy is to empower women and their families to begin parenting feeling confident, capable and well-supported in giving their child the best start in life. In addition, reduce the impact of inequalities amongst maternal and neonatal healthcare. Delivering this vision and supporting women and their families to make sustainable changes, will help decrease the generational impact often associated with hard-to-reach groups. Furthermore, break down barriers and address the associated links with 'Adverse Childhood Experiences' (ACE's).

The overall primary goal is to achieve: Healthy Pregnancy, Healthy Mother, Healthy Baby.

As a caseload midwife you will be planning and implementing individualised midwifery led care, in partnership with the woman and the multidisciplinary team. Using continual assessment and analysis you will provide continuity of carer throughout the womans pregnancy, birth and postnatal period to ensure her medical, psychological and social needs are assessed and holistically cared for. As a caseload midwife you will be working alongside multi professional teams providing the most appropriate care for women whilst breaking down barriers that can inhibit women with socially complex lives accessing high quality maternity care.

  • Registered Midwife with current UK registration

  • Education/ mentorship qualification

  • Computer literate with experience of working with the Microsoft Office package
  • Should comprise experience of any work which demonstrates the skills required for the post, previous work (which is relevant),
  • Should comprise key skills and knowledge for the post, e.g. knowledge of specialist field
