You will be required to maximise income for the Trust and responsible for invoicing, cash collection and reconciliation and reporting processes. Depending on the priorities of the team the balance between these activities will flex.
Main duties of the job
Cash collection:
-Manage the Aged Debt spreadsheet which contains the data of the invoicing debt to private healthcare insurers and self paying private patients
-Liaise with patients, insurers and other stakeholders, both verbally and in writing, to investigate queries on unpaid invoices, resolve issues and secure payment using knowledge of active contracts and tariffs, effective communication, negotiation and influencing skills
-Assess the validity of payment shortfalls against the insurer tariffs and challenge invalid shortfalls to the insurers and patients in an effective and timely manner
-Assist with cash reconciliation ensuring the ledger is accurate and up to date
-Liaise with debt collection agencies as required
-Communicate statutory financial regulations and NHS rules in a simplified form to non-finance people
-Discuss complicated financial matters concerning invoices and payments
Invoicing:
-Produce complete and accurate invoices. In doing so, ensure that all necessary support is in place to ensure cash recovery is smooth including patient undertaking to pay forms, insurer authorisations, and accurate patient and treatment details
