Job summary

A rare opportunity has arisen for a caring and proactive Dispensing Optician to join our team in the Oxford Eye Hospital. The post will involve the dispensing of in-house complex prescriptions to all ages including babies.

Main duties of the job

You will have an important role of providing the best cosmetic and practical dispensing solution to optimise the visual outcome in all types of eye disease. You may be involved in supporting optometrists in the dispensing of spectacle mounted low vision aids and work with children and adults with multiple disabilities. You will have the opportunity for specialist dispensing such as fitting custom-made moisture guards, ptosis props and working with complex prescriptions.

About us

You will be a key member of our dynamic caring optometry multidisciplinary team which includes Dispensing Opticians, Specialist Optometrists, Pre-registration Optometrist and Optometric technicians. We work closely with Orthoptists, Nurses and Ophthalmologists.

Degree in Optometry 2 (1) or above

  • Registered as qualified optometrist with GOC
