Highly Specialist Physiotherapist, Inpatient Neuro Rehabilitation

Job summary
This is a full time inpatient neuro rehabilitation physiotherapy position. The post-holder will be responsible for the day-to-day running of the inpatient rehab physio team.
- To provide an extremely high level of specialist clinical expertise across the level 1 rehab unit, assessing and treating patients with a range of predominantly neurological problems, both physical and cognitive.
- To provide educational leadership with support from band 7 peers and to ensure high clinical standards are achieved by all staff through clinical supervision and teaching.
- To deliver high standards of clinical practice maintaining a caseload of inpatients.
- To ensure that all staff deliver a high standard of clinical practice evaluating the effectiveness of their interventions.
- To provide clinical supervision regarding the management and treatment of inpatients at OCE.
- To keep fully informed of updates in clinical practice guidelines and evidenced-based practice and share this knowledge with the team.
- To provide support and advice to staff engaged in new initiatives.
Main duties of the job
- To be responsible for supervising and appraising the rotational band 6 and band 5 physiotherapists.
- To liaise between physiotherapists and other professionals within OCE and in the acute and community sectors.
- To promote, support and participate in education, audit and research within OCE
- To initiate and be actively involved with service developments.
- To identify, initiate and be actively involved in organising internal and external training courses at OCE.
- To encourage health promotion within the unit by example and advice to individual patients.
