Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust has a vacancy for a full time Management Accountant at the John Radcliffe Hospital. This is a great opportunity if you are looking to develop your accountancy career within the NHS.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will provide a professional, responsive and high profile financial management service to the Foundation Trust and be part of the Clinical Support Services (CSS) Divisional finance team responsible for the production of monthly management accounts. They will also provide support in the production and processing of transactions through the general ledger, transaction analysis and variance analysis to budget.
The post holder should be working towards a professional level accountancy qualification and ideally, but not essential, have previous experience of working in the NHS. The post holder will also have a working knowledge of finance systems, specifically general ledger, sales ledger, Excel and other Microsoft packages and have excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills and be able to work flexibly in their approach in the finance team.

- Good IT skills, a working knowledge of spread sheets etc.
- Experience of a range of accounting duties at this or similar organisations unless compensated for by a degree incorporating finance modules or by AAT/CCAB qualification
- Must display evidence of numeracy
- Able to communicate confidently both verbally and in writing with all levels of the organisation
- Familiar with the principles of book-keeping

- Comprehensive knowledge of the NHS generally

- Studying a professional accountancy qualification. CIMA, ACCA, AAT, CIPFA with evidence of passes at the minimum of the foundation levels, or a degree incorporating finance modules. Alternatively have relevant experience from within a financial environment
