Job summary

We currently have a vacancy for a part-time (Saturday & Sunday) Senior Ward Housekeeper in Ward F at the Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre in Oxford.

Ward F is a 24 bedded adult in-patient ward specialising in orthopaedic surgery, ranging from spinal to joint replacement surgery, also focusing on the surgery of bone and soft tissue tumours.We are an elective hospital so this means that most patients choose to have their treatment here, as a result, the environment is incredibly positive and uplifting.

Main duties of the job

We are looking for an individual who enjoys working in a busy and unpredictable environment and is able to use their initiative, but who likes working in a team.Enthusiastic, organised, and excellent communication skills are a must, along with a can do attitude and a friendly demeanour.

The main focus of the role is to ensure that the ward is clean and tidy, well maintained and that clinical staff are supported so that they can focus on the care and treatment of our patients. You will also be responsible for ensuring that all patients' dietary requirements are met, and meal times run smoothly, this includes updating our patient record system with any relevant information concerning fluids or dietary needs to assist the nursing team.

Experience within the NHS would be an advantage but not essential.
