Job summary
We are looking for forward thinking positive and motivated Nursing Assistant to join our team here at the Oxford Heart Centre on Cardiology ward.
Cardiology Ward is a 41 bedded unit incorporating 16 rapid assessment unit beds and 6 high dependency beds. We care for all kinds of cardiology patients with heart conditions but acute and chronic, and a large range of patients undergoing both day case and complex cardiac procedures.
Main duties of the job
As a Nursing Assistant on Cardiology ward you would work as part of the multi-disciplinary team to ensure high standards of patient care. You will be expected to fulfil essential care needs for patients, supporting the qualified nursing staff whilst working autonomously in your role.

Education, training and qualif
Essential
- To demonstrate literacy and numeracy.
- E Evidence of level 2 Apprenticeship or Diploma in Health related subject.
Desirable
- Evidence of Level 3 Diploma or Apprenticeship in Health related subject or working towards.
- Evidence of the Care Certificate or commitment to achieve on joining Trust. Understanding of the Code of Conduct for Health Care Support Workers and Adult Social Care Workers in England
Clinical Practice
Essential
- Significant experience of the NHS and/or health/child care and an interest in the speciality with knowledge of wider issues relating to health care
Desirable
- Up to date knowledge and insight into specialist area.
Personal Qualities and Physica

- Able to work under minimal supervision but fully aware when to escalate concerns to a registered practitioner
- Essential IT skills in order to access required systems such as electronic patient records.
