Job summary

An opportunity has arisen for a flexible and motivated individual to join the Phlebotomy Service working as a Phlebotomist.

This is a full time or part-time substantive post, the successful person will expected to be available for work between the hours of 7 45 -16.45 Monday- Friday and work 1 weekend every 4 weeks 07.45-11.45 Saturday and Sunday

You must be a car user and have business insurance as you will be required to drive throughout Derbyshire, please ensure that you mark on your application that you have got a Full UK Driving Licence and access to a vehicle. Failure to do so will result in your application being rejected

Main duties of the job

You will be part of a small team taking blood samples. You will work on your own initiative organising your daily workload to achieve departmental test turnaround standards, responding to situations that could affect the quality and timeliness of test results and their reporting. You will assist senior staff with audits and data collection and will ensure the most cost-effective use of equipment and assist with stock control.

You should have a flexible approach to working and possess excellent communication skills being able to respond to enquiries from users and patients whilst maintaining confidentiality, this is a fast-paced and demanding role. It is essential that you have a caring and empathetic nature and have clear legible handwriting. You should also have basic IT skills.

Demonstrable experience of working in a care environment or customer service role would also be preferable.
