Job summary
We are looking for an experienced and confident Neonatal Nurse to join our team as a Band 7 Clinical Lead, providing expert clinical leadership across the neonatal units at the University Hospitals of Derby and Burton (UHDB). This is a key role for a highly skilled practitioner who thrives in a fast-paced clinical environment and is passionate about supporting staff to deliver exceptional neonatal care.
As a Clinical Lead, you will be a visible and accessible presence on the unit, taking charge of the clinical area, coordinating safe and effective care, and ensuring high standards are consistently maintained. You will provide clinical expertise, act as a point of escalation for complex situations, and support staff to deliver high quality, family-centred care.
Main duties of the job
The successful individuals will provide effective and visible leadership on our 2 Neonatal units, working cohesively with our existing senior nursing team.
The successful applicants will take nursing responsibility for our cross site neonatal service ensuring expert nursing care to the babies on our 26 cot Local Neonatal Unit at Royal Derby Hospital and our 8 cot Special Care Baby Unit at Queens Hospital Burton as well as our newly commissioned Transitional Care units. Ensuring high standards of nursing care are provided, ensuring we promote patient safety and a positive patient experience across both sites.
This role is also about being an exemplar role model for the Nursing Team and steering their development and support. Applicants must hold a current NMC registration, and have demonstrable post registration Band 6 experience in Neonatal nursing.
The applicant must be qualified in Neonatal speciality and have recent clinical and leadership experience.
