Health Care Support Worker - Women's Health

Job summary

An opportunity has arisen for a Band 3 Health Care Support Worker to join our team within the University of Derby and Burton Hospitals Gynaecology Outpatients Department.

We are looking for a compassionate and highly motivated individual to join our team. You should have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and a genuine passion for caring for women undergoing a range of gynaecology and fertility issues.

You will be working alongside a supportive and committed MDT. The service ethos is to provide compassionate care and support to all our patients while attending their outpatient appointments.

Our department delivers specialist, evidence-based, holistic care to women with gynaecological conditions in an environment that supports patient choice and dignity. Our team consists of Consultant Gynaecologists, Senior Sister, Sister, Clinical Nurse Specialists, Registered Nurses, Health Care Support Workers and Modern Housekeeper.

We work 5 days a week, shifts available are Monday - Friday 0830 - 1830

You will also be required to complete a Maths and English assessment prior to being interviewed. (This will be completed at UHDB)

  • NVQ Level 2/3 in Health and Social Care gained by working in a vocational capacity or relevant healthcare support work experience
  • Care Certificate standard training gained by working in a vocational capacity-we will not accept an online care certificate

  • Evidence of additional developmental courses undertaken relevant to HCSW role

Experience & Knowledge

  • Demonstrable experience working in a care environment within the UK (required for completion of NVQ 2)
