Job summary
You will provide a co-ordinated role for all patient complaints, safety, Governance and Risk issues relating to the Maternity and Gynaecology Business Unit. The postholder will undertake a key role liaising with Key Business Unit staff and Managers to ensure that information is collated to enable complaints, safety, governance and Risk issues to be responded to or handled within the trust quality, complaints, governance and Risk standards and deadlines
The post holder will also undertake a key role liaising with the PALS and Complaints Teams.
The postholder will be required to pro-actively manage the patient experience issues within the Business Unit and directly liaise with Lead investigators who are dealing with complaints. Also to support a problem-solving approach towards concerns raised by patients / relatives and carers.
The postholder will also provide high quality data management/reporting to the Senior Divisional Team and Clinical Governance Facilitator, and be responsible for supporting processes related to Divisional oversight of complaints, and coordinating relevant Governance and Risk meetings. as well as administrative support to Divisional Risk meetings.
Main duties of the job
To undertake a co-ordination role for all complaints, safety, governance, and risk issues relating to the Maternity and Gynaecology Business Unit.
To provide administrative support for Risk and Governance meetings to include producing agendas and relevant documentation, taking minutes at formal incident review meetings, Virtual Incident Review Panel (VIRP), and Business Unit Governance meetings.
To liaise with Lead Investigators, Clinicians / Managers and any other staff relating to the complaints, safety, governance, and risk issues to ensure that all relevant information is collated and co-ordinated to enable formal responses, timelines, Serious incidents, and higher-level investigations to be completed to identified timescales
Proactively manage the duty of candour and patient experience requirements within the business unit and ensure clinical and managerial leads are kept informed of tight deadlines for responses.
To maintain necessary administrative systems and maintain up-to-date information databases for recording and tracking of duty of candour processes, incident investigations, action plans and patient complaints.
You will need to have computer skills, proficient in report writing and excel spreadsheets.
