Senior Sister / Senior Charge Nurse

Job summary

We have an opportunity for a dynamic, organised proactive individual to undertake the role as Senior Sister / Senior Charge Nurse on Coronary Care Unit at Royal Derby Hospital.

The successful candidate will need to demonstrate effective leadership skills, have the ability to maintain the high standards that have been set whilst meeting the key performance indicators within the constraints of policy, guidelines and budget.

Main duties of the job

The candidate will need to be able to manage change, continue to adapt to the current needs of the patients within the specialty and business unit while being able to care for and manage acute medical patients.

The candidate must be able to make informed decisions within the speciality and scope of professional practice, involving patients and public to ensure agreed standards, objectives and targets are met.

They will work collaboratively within a team to meet the needs of patients and play a key leadership role in service delivery and adherence to policy and procedures. They will demonstrate safe clinical decision making and expert care for their patient group and provide appropriate plans of care.
