Job summary
The Research Information Programmer will be responsible for creating, validating, maintaining, and updating reports, dashboards and visualisations using primarily the Power BI reporting tool, and other equivalent reporting tools. The main source of the data will be the EDGE administration system. The job holder will use automation to improve, standardise, and automate R&D processes. They undertake adequate data cleaning and data quality control checks to ensure the completeness and accuracy of data at source. Data quality reports will be written and presented to appropriate groups, and committees. The Research Information Programmer will turn R&D business data and information into intelligence to support the provision of high-quality, standardised and efficient research services for their customers.
Main duties of the job
- Reports, dashboards and visualisations are created, validated, maintained, and updated using Power BI reporting tool and other equivalent reporting tools.
- Automated processes are created, validated, maintained, and updated using tools such as Blue Prism, Power Automate etc. to improve, standardise, and automate R&D processes.
- Data cleaning and quality control checks of existing R&D data systems, such as EDGE. Corrections and updates of identified issues.
- Production of data quality reports.
- Development of Operational Manual, Standard Operating Procedures, and Working Procedures linked to activities in this role.
- Communicate effectively with colleagues and stakeholders of all levels
- Turn R&D business data and information into intelligence to support the provision of high-quality, standardised and efficient research services for their customers.
