Job summary
An opportunity has arisen for a Deputy General Manager to join the Paediatric Business Unit, within Women's & Children's Division. The Deputy General Manager will work as part of the triumvirate management team of the Urgent Care pathway, working closely with the Matron and Assistant Clinical Director, as well as providing visible and effective leadership for their clinical area team.
The Deputy General Manager will be required to support the General Manager and Clinical Director in guiding and leading change within the Business Unit. The post holder will support the General Manager in the day to day operational and performance management of the business unit with a focus on the urgent care pathway. The post holder will provide effective leadership contributing towards the achievement of key local and national performance and finance targets.
The right candidates will have extensive NHS operational management experience and a proven track record in delivering change management in order to improve services for patients.

Main duties of the job
The post holder will be responsible for the management of the Urgent Care Pathway with a focus on triumvirate leadership and the delivery of key local and national performance and financial targets.
The post holder will support the General Manager in the day to day operational and performance management of the business unit. To provide effective leadership contributing towards the achievement of the financial forecast and delivery of contracted activity and performance targets. Implementing local and national policy/strategy and deliver service development.
