Job summary
The lead professional for perinatal quality, assurance and compliance will work
in conjunction with the senior perinatal leadership team to develop, implement and facilitate actions for consistent compliance with all local and nationally agreed maternity and neonatal quality and safety standards.
The post holder will work collaboratively with Local Maternity and Neonatal system (LMNS), and key stakeholders to plan, monitor and evaluate the response to national maternity and neonatal reviews and requirements. This role requires a cross-organisational and multi-disciplinary team approach, building relationships with both internal and external stakeholders to meet service review and safety requirements set by the Care Quality Commission, NHS Resolutions Maternity Incentive Scheme and other health regulators.
Main duties of the job
Be responsible for the development of programmes of work to ensure that the Trust meets the outcomes set by the Care Quality Commission, NHS England, NHS Resolution (Maternity Incentive Scheme) and any other national, service-specific or local performance frameworks.
Lead compliance tracking for local, regional and national reviews, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and senior leadership.
Working closely and collaboratively with the Women's Services Management team to ensure effective communications systems are in place and to ensure excellent standards of care and compliance with national and local standards, and act as the lead and central point of contact for Women's divisional quality assurance and compliance activities.
Ensure local, regional and national reviews are integrated into key meetings on workforce, governance, MDT training, and investigations, ensuring continuous and sustainable improvements.
Support the senior management team in quality improvement initiatives and implementation of national recommendations as well as co-ordinating internal and external reporting requirements
