Job summary

Due to the postholder leaving to undertake another role in the pharmacy department, an opportunity has arisen for a Pharmacy Technician to join our friendly and dedicated Pharmacy Clinical Trials team. We are responsible for the pharmacy aspects of clinical trials involving Investigational Medicinal Products (CTIMPs) within the Trust.

University Hospitals of Derby and Burton NHS Foundation Trust (UHDB) is a very research active Trust. As a trial technician primarily at the Royal Derby Hospital site, you will be working within the pharmacy clinical trials area in the pharmacy dispensary, as well as working alongside the pharmacy cancer satellite team. You will also be required to carry out clinical trial work at other UHDB sites, particularly Queens Hospital Burton site, as determined by the clinical trial activities occurring.

Day to day you you will be supported by the trial technicians and pharmacists in the Clinical Trials Pharmacy Team to provide the regular on-site point of contact for clinical trials. A full pharmacy clinical trial induction will also be provided from both the QHB and RDH sites, so you are fully embedded into the team.

You will also be interacting with a variety of staff within the Trust including members of the pharmacy department, clinical trial research nurses and practitioners and clinicians, as well as trial sponsors and their representatives and our patients.
