Job summary
We are delighted to offer an opportunity for a dynamic and experienced registered nurse to join our Senior Clinical Leadership Team as a Matron supporting Surgical Services within the Division.
This role is ideally suited to someone who is passionate about delivering excellence in patient experience, safety, and quality of care, and who thrives in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment. You will play a pivotal leadership role in overseeing clinical standards, promoting compassionate care, and supporting teams to achieve the very best outcomes for patients.
The division is looking for a compassionate and enthusiastic individual to join the Surgical Division, working closely as part of the General Surgery and Urology Business Unit alongside the wider matron and senior nurse team within the division.
You will be part of a fast paced, supportive team, that will help expand your portfolio and professional development.
Main duties of the job
As a member of the senior leadership team, the postholder will:

Lead and manage designated clinical areas across the surgical portfolio

Champion improvements in patient safety, clinical effectiveness, and service delivery

Support and empower staff through visible leadership and professional development

Contribute to workforce planning, rostering, and safe staffing reviews

Work in collaboration with operational colleagues to ensure financial accountability

Monitor and support cost-effective use of resources without compromising quality of care

Identify opportunities for service innovation, cost improvement, and sustainable delivery

Represent the Division in key governance and assurance forum
