Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for Band 3 Health Care Support Workers to join our well established and supportive team within the University of Derby and Burton Hospitals (UHDB) Sunflower Ward to cover Maternity Leave.

We are seeking to recruit enthusiastic and dynamic individuals who are passionate about Medical and Surgical daycase. Working a mixture of Short and Long days.

*You will need to provide evidence of your NVQ 3 in Healthcare qualification*

Main duties of the job

Neonatal Services at UHDB are provided by 2 Units. Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Royal Derby Hospital has 26 cots and is a Level 2 (LNU) purpose built unit providing medical care for premature and sick infants. SCBU on the QHB site has 8 cots and is a Level 1 (Special Care) Unit. Both units work closely together to provide high quality care across the service. Both units are part of the East Midlands Operational Delivery Network (North Hub). We are developing our Neonatal Service to include Neonatal Transitional Care and will open 10 TC cots at RDH and 4 TC cots at QHB in the very near future.

We promote Family Integrated Care and have a positive and forward thinking attitude to the care of the family as a unit. We are part of the Baby Friendly Initiative promoting and supporting breast feeding for all our babies no matter how small.
