Job summary
We are looking for an enthusiastic, well-motivated individual to join our busy team performing a variety of Cardiology diagnostic tests on patients.
The post involves performing diagnostic cardiac investigations on a variety of in and out-patients. The main responsibility of the role involves performing Electrocardiogram's (ECG's) and other non-invasive cardiac investigations.
A flair for communicating with a broad range of individuals would stand you in good stead within the role. Putting patients at their ease in order to produce high quality, reproducible, diagnostic investigations is paramount.
Main duties of the job
You will primarily be involved in recording Electrocardiographs (ECG's) and other non-invasive cardiac investigations on a variety of inpatients and outpatients of all ages. As competency progresses the post holder will develop further skills to enable them to perform and assist with other tests carried out within the department.
A significant portion of the post will be based within the Community Diagnostic Hub at Sir Robert Peel. Rotation to the Cardio-respiratory Department at Queens hospital at Burton as well as other sister sites across UHDB will be required.
This is not a qualified position although you will be expected to study towards the Certificate in Electrocardiography in order to attain competency in ECG recording and basic interpretation.You must have GCSEs in English, Maths and one Science subject, grade C or above/grades 4-9 or equivalent.Previous experience of working with the general public is essential.
