Security Manager

Job summary

We have an opportunity within our Security Team at University Hospitals of Derby and Burton (UHDB) as a Security Manager. You will manage and oversee all aspects of Security on UHDB properties, including management of CCTV, security officers/supervisors and training.

You will maintain comprehensive and accurate records of any breaches or suspected breaches of security and maintain these in accordance with information security principles and Information Governance.

Main duties of the job

To interpret national guidance and policy and to lead the development and implementation of local policies, procedures, and guidance on behalf of the organisation in respect of security management matters. To act as the key point of contact for staff providing them with expert support within the organisation. To act as the key point of contact for external personnel and as lead on all communications and reporting on Security related matters. To lead the security management agenda from a service development perspective. To ensure that suitable and sufficient risk assessments are undertaken and recorded. To ensure that statutory reports are compiled and submitted internally to the Trust's assurance groups and committees directly or indirectly. To act as the Trusts security expert, ensure that security issues are dealt with in a professional and timely manner, making appropriate advice, judgements, and referrals in line with national and local legislation and policy. Carry out explorative investigative works involving complex facts or situations which require the analysis, interpretation, and comparison of a complex range of options. To support Divisional Managers in consulting with Trust Procurement over security related matters.
