Job summary

1 x Fixed Term Position (Maternity Cover for 9 Months) - 37.5 hrs per week

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a clinical photographer to join our friendly hard working photography team at UHDB. The role will require the candidate to work across all of our sites, encompassing the Royal Derby Hospital (RDH), Florence Nightingale Community Hospital (FNCH) and Queens Hospital Burton (QHB).

The main purpose of the role is to assist in providing a comprehensive and high quality medical photography service for a wide-ranging number of clinical specialties. This will be carried out in photographic studios and at multiple locations across the Trust.

Main duties of the job

  • Produce high quality clinical photography of patients in the photographic studio, accurately recording a variety of medical conditions using photographic and lighting techniques in line with department procedures.
  • Perform clinical photography on location in clinic, ward and theatre settings to a high standard.
  • Provide photographs for NAI, medico-legal and police purposes.
  • Undertake ophthalmic imaging such as FFA's, OCT's and Fundus Photography.
  • Communicate with service users to facilitate photographic requests and answer any related queries.
  • Use of image editing software such as Adobe Photoshop to ensure images are processed and ready for upload to the Trust image database.
  • Accurate and timely upload of clinical photographs to the Trust image database, to ensure images are readily accessible to health professionals, in order to aid assessment and treatment.
  • Perform a range of non-clinical photography for public relation or communication purposes, staff portraits and photography of medical equipment.
  • Discuss and offer advice to Trust staff on a range of photographic related issues and offer clarification on the requesting process, consent and other matters.
  • Ensure Trust and department policies and procedures are followed, so that clinical images and data are processed securely and confidentially.
