Health Care Assistant/ Health Care Support Worker (Surveillance)

Job summary
The post holder will contribute to reducing health care associated infections by participating in surveillance and audit programmes, delivering agreed training programmes and data collection to support decision making and adherence to national reporting requirements.
The post holder will also work directly with the Specialist Surveillance Practitioner in data collection, maintaining the documentation and electronic databases and timely upload of data to support the development of the projects as documented by the surveillance programme.
Main duties of the job
- Contribute to the Trust surveillance and audit programme by undertaking infection prevention and control audits, data collection
- Contribute to infection prevention and control training in line with scope of practice
- Inputting of data into Trust systems and national reporting systems
- Undertake a range of clerical duties in the absence of or in support of other colleagues to ensure a smooth-running service
- Work in partnership with all members of the health care teams to ensure continuity high standards of infection prevention and control
- Contribute effectively as a member of the multi-professional team, building and maintaining appropriate relationships
- Contributes to infection prevention and control training in line with scope of practice
- Inputting of data into Trust systems and national reporting system
- Clearly and accurately communicate factual information as appropriate and in a manner suitable to the recipient whilst maintaining confidentiality.
- Contributes to trend analysis of Infection Prevention and Control / surveillance data
- Excellent organisational skills to prioritise tasks and assess facts and situations
- Organises own day-to-day tasks or activities. Plans own work and re-prioritises as required
