Job summary

The successful applicant will join a large team of existing orthopaedic consultant within the Trust. This is a dynamic, forward-thinking team with plans to grow further. The post also includes a 1 in 16 on-call commitment

Main duties of the job

We are seeking a high calibre individual who will bring added value and extra capacity to what is already a highly regarded and very busy unit.

At Royal Derby Hospital the specialty comprises 8 purpose-built theatres, 5 wards, pre-operative assessment and outpatient clinic facilities as well as the Pulvertaft Hand Unit, which has its own dedicated facilities.

Nottingham University has a graduate-entry medical school on the Royal Derby Hospital campus which has greatly enhanced the teaching and research opportunities for medical staff. You should possess FRCS or equivalent, have completed a Higher Specialist Training Programme in Trauma and Orthopaedics, and possess full GMC Registration with a license to practice and be eligible for entry on the GMC Specialist Register by one of the following routes:-

1.Certification of Completion of Training (CCT) the proposed CCT must be within 6 months of the interview date

2. Certificate of Eligibility for Specialist Registration (CESR) CESR candidates must have written GMC confirmation upon successful application
