Job summary
An opportunity for a Youth Worker to support patients 11-18 who access their care at the UHDB Trust.You will be working in a small Youth Team based within the children's hospitals of University hospitals of Derby and Burton. The main aim of the post is to support inpatients and outpatients aged 11-18 with a range of health and social issues. You will be required to work across all UHDB sites with some community working to support and empower young people to have the knowledge, skills and confidence to manage their care. A full driving licence and access to a vehicle is required.
Please note there will be 2 stages of interviews for this post for successful candidates.
Main duties of the job
You will contribute to the development of services for young people within the team, ensuring our patients are at the heart of what we do. You will be required to act as an advocate and source of support for young people. You will need to work flexibly to assist with the provision of a varied programme of personal, social and educational developmental activities during the day and evening, face to face, online, independentlyand in group settings, with due regard for the needs and opinions of young people ensuring their voice is captured and services are tailored to their needs.
