Job summary
In the Nightingale Macmillan unit we believe that all patients have the right to have an individualised and rounded approach to their care at the end of their lives, therefore we are looking for a highly motivated Registered Nurse with excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work within the Unit to provide high standards of care for the patients and carers known to our service.
The successful candidate will assess, plan, implement and evaluate holistic, individualised patient care in a safe and caring environment in the most efficient and clinically effective way whilst acting as the patient's advocate and maintaining privacy and dignity.
The unit has a supportive, motivated senior team who have a passion for developing our team, open to new ideas and ways of working to enable you to progress in your chosen career pathway.
Main duties of the job
- To assess, plan, implement and evaluate holistic, individualised patient care.
- Explore emotional issues including the insight of the patient and family regarding diagnosis, prognosis andpreferred place of care and death.
- Communicate respectfully in an open, honest and accurate way with patients, relatives and colleagues.
- Managing complex, palliative care symptoms.
- To practice in accordance with the NMC Code of Professional conduct and scope of professional practice and maintain own NMC registration.
