Job summary
University Hospitals of Derby and Burton(UHDB) is looking to recruit a talented and experienced individual to provide strategic leadership for our extensive pharmacy technical services.
We have an extensive technical service based at the Royal Derby Hospital including batch manufacture and Quality Control services under a MHRA MS Licence, three aseptic units operating under section 10 exemption and an on site Quality Control laboratory and Quality Assurance team.
We are looking for an individual with a strong technical and regulatory focus to ensure that our units comply with Good Manufacturing Practice standards both now and in the future.
The post holder will be able to work strategically to deliver an aseptic service model across UHDB, meeting the needs of our patients and developing a skilled workforce to deliver the future service model. Working at a system and regional level will be essential in this role to ensure alignment and engagement with the national work in this area.
Your development will be supported by a close working relationship with the Chief Pharmacist, other Deputy Chief Pharmacists and Divisional Management Team.
Main duties of the job
- Lead, deliver & develop the pharmacy technical service delivered under both the MHRA manufacturers licence and section 10 exemption.
- Support the Chief Pharmacist and Pharmacy Business Unit management team to develop, deliver, manage and lead the pharmacy service
- Deputise for the Chief Pharmacist as required
- Act as the Trusts Accountable Pharmacist for aseptic preparation of medicines in accordance with the requirements of national regulatory frameworks.
