Job summary
The post holder will be responsible for the supervision of the Treatment Centre Administration Team (FOH, 1st Floor Reception, Medical Records and the Ophthalmology Admin staff) ensuring that services are delivered to agreed quality standards at all times and ensure that a professional and caring image is maintained.
The post holder will be expected to carry out the line management of the team and to deal with any concerns raised.
This will include the management of staff rotas, annual leave cover, sickness and absence cover, training, recruitment and performance issues in the first instance.
The post will involve a combination of patient contact, both face to face and over the telephone as well as consultant and staff enquiries and a range of clerical duties intended to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the department.
Main duties of the job
- To supervise the team on a day-to-day basis to ensure the delivery of an efficient patientfocused service for both patients and staff
- Have responsibility for the management of annual leave cover, sickness and absence cover aswell as training, recruitment and ensuring appraisals are carried out in a timely manner
- To ensure appropriate work allocation within the team including the organisation of our workrota to ensure the cover of the early and late shift and to ensure all four areas in the departmentare continually covered
- Liaise with nursing staff and clinicians where appointments are required outside the agreed clinic rules.
- To be responsible for monitoring the out-patient clinics in advance of the session to ensure thesessions are full and appropriately booked
- To be responsible for monitoring the Ophthalmology Pended Patient Lists
- You will run updated pended reports weekly for all three sites
