Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 3 Clinical Support Worker to be a part of the experienced and friendly team on the Medical Day Care Unit at the Royal Derby Hospital.

MDCU is a fast-paced area providing a variety of infusion therapies including chemotherapy, to support specialist teams within the trust. These include Gastroenterology, Rheumatology, Endocrine, Neurology and Dermatology.

The importance of patient experience is the heart of everything we do.

Applicants will need to be dynamic, motivated, reliable and flexible. Excellent communication and organisational skills are key as is a commitment to delivering quality care to our patients.

To apply for this post, you will need:

  • To possess an apprenticeship in Level 3 Health or NVQ3 in Health and Social Care.
  • MDCU experience is desirable
  • Phlebotomy and Cannulation skills are desirable, but training will be provided if necessary
  • Good communication skills

Main duties of the job

The Medical Day Case Unit provides a variety of infusion therapies, including chemotherapy to support Specialist teams of Gastroenterology, Rheumatology, Neurology, Dermatology and Endocrinology.

Applicants will need to be compassionate, dynamic, reliable and flexible.
