Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Full-time (part-time applications will be considered) motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our team providing high quality Ophthalmic diagnostic assessments.

The post will include working at 3 sites, Treatment Centre Queen's Hospital, Burton upon Trent, Sir Robert Peel Hospital, Tamworth and Samuel Johnson Community Hospital, Lichfield, and therefore it is highly advantageous for you to be a car owner/driver.

Main duties of the job

Clinical duties to be undertaken across the UHDB Trust sites include:

  • Optical Coherence Tomography of the Optic nerve and Retinal nerve fibre layer
  • Optical Coherence Tomography of the Retina and Macula.
  • Static perimetry using the Humphrey Visual Field analyser.
  • Fundus photography.
  • Focimetry and transposition.
  • Intraocular pressure (IOP) measurements using non-contact tonometry (e.g. iCare tonometer).

Administrative duties as required at the request of the Orthoptic staff.

Any additional activity as requested by the Head Orthoptist.
