Job summary
Are you a qualified ACP or current registered healthcare practitioner with significant post registration experience?
If so the children's emergency department has an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic, highly motivated and dynamic advanced clinical practitioner /trainee advanced clinical practitioner to join our established team of Paediatric Emergency Medicine ACPs
Working alongside the nursing and medical teams you will be responsible for the assessment, management and discharge of children and young people who present with a wide variety of illness.
Advanced clinical practice is well established at UHDB and is seen as integral to the delivery of high quality and safe patient .
We are looking for a practitioner who demonstrates a suitability for and commitment to advanced clinical practice. You will need to demonstrate that you are a highly motivated, patient focused and exhibit a passion for clinical practice. You will need a mature and professional attitude to work with other people and have the ability to make and maintain good working relationships.
If applying as a trainee ACP, you will need to demonstrate the above characteristics. Your learning needs will be assessed and you will equally be supported through appropriate academic and clinical training pathwaysApplicants who do not hold a first level degree may apply but will need to evidence the ability to study at master's Level through recent successful completion of level 6 credits or equivalent modules
Main duties of the job
- Work independently at an advanced clinical level in the direct delivery of high-quality care making critical clinical decisions based on advanced clinical skills assessment.
- Provide clinical leadership and support within both the medical and nursing teams and to support the Senior ACP Leadership Team in developing the UHDB ACP service to improve the patient experience.
- Support clinical teams with day-to-day activity,
- Support junior medical staff, to achieve training and development requirements.
- Provide clinical areas with consistent high-quality care.
