To support these staff and help the University Hospitals of Derby and Burton (UHDB) meet these challenges we are seeking an enthusiastic dynamic, Continuous Improvement Lead to join our Improvement Team.

You will join our supportive team of like-minded colleagues and use your demonstrable knowledge and experience in continuous improvement and or project management to support the delivery of our organisation's priorities.

The role is based at the Royal Derby Hospital on the outskirts of Derby, but the successful applicant will be required to travel to any one of the 5 sites belonging to University Hospitals of Derby and Burton NHS Foundation Trust.

Main duties of the job

Improvement Practice is our long-term approach to transforming our hospital services for the better. The programme is designed to build the culture, conditions, and capability for continuous improvement.

You will join a team that supports the development and delivery of Improvement Practice.

You will work alongside senior leaders and multi-disciplinary teams across UHDB and system partners where you will be responsible for planning and leading improvement projects focused on delivering measurable improvement.

You will work on both strategic and operational improvements using UHDB's 'Improvement Practice' and / or project management methodology to help transform services and create a legacy of improvement capability in the teams you work with.

You will be mentoring and coaching others in the adoption of Improvement Practice, developing your knowledge and capability at the same time.

You will already have extensive knowledge of lean methods and the behaviours and systems necessary to sustain improvement, but training, guidance and certification in the practice will be made available for the successful candidates. NHS experience is not essential.

Participation in continuing professional development will be expected.
