Job summary
We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Assistant Psychologist to work within the Paediatric Psychology Team, within a wider Clinical Psychology Service.
The post holder will support in assessments, undertaking specialist psychometric assessments and school observations. They will also gain experience of individual psychological interventions with young people under the supervision of qualified Clinical Psychologists. The successful candidates may also be expected to assist in maintenance of clinical databases, clinical audit and support the running of intervention groups.
The office base is in Royal Derby Hospital, but the post holders would be expected to travel to schools and other venues across Derby City and Southern Derbyshire.You will receive excellent supervision and support. We have good links with the Leicester and Trent Doctoral Training Courses and regularly supervise Trainee Clinical Psychologists.

Main duties of the job
The role includes support in assessment, undertaking specialist psychometric assessments and school observations. There will also be opportunity to gain experience of individual psychological interventions with children and families under the supervision of a qualified clinical psychologist.
You will also be expected to assist in maintenance of clinical databases, clinical audit and support the running of intervention groups. This post offers the opportunity to work within a team of Psychologists with close links to other professional groups.
Excellent communication will be an essential component to the post. You should be able to demonstrate a good level of initiative and be able work well as part of a team. You will also be required to take on other identified responsibilities suitable for the banding. Must be eligible for Graduate Basis for Chartered Membership (GBC) of the BPS.
