Job summary
To provide a full post room service for all outgoing main from the Trust. All mail must be handled and recorded in accordance with Trust procedures.
To sort all mail into first class, second class and those that require special services.
To sort GP mail ready for collection by the Courier.
To record any parcels which are sent via special/signed for services.
Main duties of the job
To record and deal with all customer post that may be delivered to the Post Room.
To frank all outgoing mail using the cheapest class/method.
To record details of post sent via the Trust's computer system and via electronic tracking.
To liaise with contractors / service providers if problems occur.
To ensure mail is kept secure and confidential at all times.
To carry out housekeeping duties in the Post Room.
To carry out on the job training of new staff.
To undertake all mandatory training.
