Job summary
To work as a member of the Facilities Team to carry out a comprehensive range of Portering tasks at the UHDB.
May work as part of a wider team of shift porters and be required to allocate tasks to other porters as part of the rota.
The Decontamination Unit supports the trust with varied and flexible approach to meet service need.
Rotated basis
Full driving license is essential
Main duties of the job
- Provision of a high quality portering service throughout the UHDB
- Respond to requests to move/transfer decontamination equipment between wards and departments.
- Timely collection and distribution of decontamination equipment
- When requested, support with the collection and delivery of single use items
- Adhere to scheduled delivery/collections - including across sites
- Movement of decontamination equipment between departments
- To undertake general duties of a routine or non-routine nature, including basic safety checks e.g Tugs, trolleys and cleaning
- To attend all mandatory training and other training courses as required
- Assist in training of new starters to the team
- Assist in implementing internal procedures and review as and when required
- Assistance and advice to Trust members of staff regarding portering services.
- Drive trust vehicles around the respective Trust site(s) to deliver portering services.
