Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Specialist Audiologist to join our dynamic and forward thinking Audiology Team. The Audiology department at the Royal Derby Hospital provides a range of routine and specialist services, including general ENT clinics, specialist otology/tinnitus/balance assessments, hearing rehabilitation, tinnitus/balance management and therapy, and specialist audio-vestibular diagnostic investigations.

The main purpose of this role is to provide a range of clinical care working in one or more specialist areas of Adult Audiology. In addition the successful candidate will take an active role in areas of clinical audit, research and clinical governance for the Audiology service, which may include designing and completing audits, and contributing to the development of evidence based protocols.

There will also be a requirement to help with the training of students and the teaching of medical students. As a minimum, you will be expected to be an Audiologist with a BSc (Hons)/MSc in Audiology or equivalent, and demonstrable years of post qualification experience in audiology.

Main duties of the job

Delivering specialist diagnostic investigations and rehabilitative therapy to a range of adult patients, the majority of which have more complex needs.

Working within one or more of our specialist teams (eg) tinnitus or balance Education and training of Audiology students from multiple Universities undertaking their clinical placements. Input into the delivering of educational sessions for medical students.
