Job summary
Fixed Term/Secondment.An exciting opportunity has arisen for an interested clinician to get a taster of leading a team a Band 7 level. The role is available for 12 months and covers the service and staff for Critical Care and Head and Neck surgery.
You will be managing a team of hard working individuals that strive to deliver the best patient care they can whilst also supporting families and loved ones who are also having to deal with life changing events.
We are looking for someone with Critical care experience and strong behavioural characteristics showing kindness and compassion. If you have excellent clinical and communication skills then this could be the job for you.
Contribution to the respiratory weekend working roster will be required and this forms part of the core hours.
Main duties of the job
The clinical aspect of the role involves the use of highly specialised skills to undertake the assessment and management of the Acutely unwell respiratory patient and also the complex speciality of Surgery.
The successful candidate will oversee the smooth running of the emergency respiratory rota as well as the training for this to ensure on-call competency.
Non-clinically the successful candidate will oversee the day to day running of the service which includes the supervision and mentoring of rotational band 5 staff and students. Also required will be the management of performance through supervision and appraisal, annual leave and sickness amongst the team.
You will also ensure and work on service development projects to ensure best practise.
You will represent physiotherapy at Derby at the East Midlands Critical Care Network meetings and other meetings as required by the Clinical Team Leader.
