Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen at the Chesterfield site of Derbyshire Pathology for the post of Special Biochemistry Team Manager and Quality Co-Ordinator to lead a friendly, well-motivated team.
You will be HCPC registered with evidence of continued professional development, demonstrable post-registration experience as a Specialist Biomedical Scientist and either an MSc in Biomedical Science or Fellowship of the IBMS or equivalent experience.
You will be an enthusiastic, positive, highly motivated, and conscientious individual with the ability to manage the day-to-day running of the Special Biochemistry department. You will also support Blood Sciences as the quality co-ordinator maintaining and developing high standards of quality.
Experience of HR management and skills is desirable and the ability to work flexibly and support the service is also a requirement.
You will work with other Team Managers, the Technical Specialist Manager and Service Manager to deliver technical excellence and drive integration of the Derbyshire Pathology service going forwards.
Main duties of the job
Our modern laboratories are well equipped; the analysers in the automated laboratory include Cobas 8000 line, Roche 8100, Menarini, Sebia and Hydrasys.
You will provide professional knowledge, guidance, leadership and training to Specialist BMS', BMS' and Pathology support staff, and support other senior members of staff.
We are committed to personal and professional development, and this will be encouraged and supported.
You will be involved in maintaining the existing ISO 15189 accreditation and service development therefore experience of UKAS assessment and QMS activities is essential.
Experience of a variety of IT systems is required and the competent use of Microsoft Office applications, Q-pulse and WinPath Enterprise will be advantageous.
