Job summary
We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Clinical Psychologist to join our ASD team. We are quite unique in that we offer both diagnostic assessments and psychological interventions to children and young people to the age of 16. We have an experienced team who work with a range of models including ACT, CFT, CBT and systemic and narrative therapies. Joint working with other professional colleagues is paramount to our service offer. We actively promote CPD and sharing of skills within the larger team which consists of a Complex behaviour service (for children with an intellectual disability), Youth Offending and Paediatric Psychology. We use a range of assessment tools including the ADOS, ADI-R and DISCO and have regular group supervision around case discussions and consensus coding. We embrace a strength based model around neurodiversity. Expertise in ARFID's, passive presentations of autism, OCD, trauma and adapting psychological models for young people with ASD is another strength of the team. Opportunities to develop service improvements and specialist interests are encouraged.
Derbyshire is a fabulous place to live with masses of countryside to visit and easy access to other parts of the country. UHDB has close links with Nottingham University and encourages research and innovative ideas. We have close links with training courses and offer placements regularly.
Main duties of the job
This post will primarily involve supervising CAP's students from Trent University to complete their training and gain appropriate competencies in the above areas. The role involves liaison with the University in terms of ensuring competencies of the Trainee's on placement and with delivering training. One exciting aspect of the role is to offer clinical supervision to the CAP's posts both formal and informally.
