Job summary
Biomedical Scientist - Microbiology
The recently created Derbyshire Pathology Service comprises laboratories at the Royal Derby Hospital, Queen's Hospital Burton and Chesterfield Royal Hospital sites and is hosted by University Hospitals of Derby and Burton NHS Foundation.
If you are an HCPC registered Biomedical Scientist and would relish a new challenge, then we would love to hear from you. This is an exciting time to join the small, friendly team on the Queen's Hospital site in Burton where you will play a pivotal role whilst putting your technical skills into practice.
This post will be based at the Burton site which provides bacteriology, mycology and parasitology services.
The department currently opens from 8:45 to 17:15 and operates a weekend and on-call service.

Key Requirements of the role:
- HCPC Registered Biomedical Scientist
- IBMS accredited Biomedical Science degree or equivalent
- Experience in microbiology - particularly bacteriology, parasitology and mycology.
- Flexibility in your approach as there is the requirement to work out of hours and weekends.
- Flexibility to work across sites should the service demand it.
