Job summary
This is a very exciting opportunity to join the Strategy Team to support the important work that drives our Trust strategy forward, delivering on our commitments to patients, staff and partners.
You will be an expert planner, with hands on experience of coordinating large scale / organisation wide plans. You will also bring experience of developing strategy and ensuring alignment across teams and organisations.
With these skills and with your experience, you will coordinate our strategy and planning work across the annual cycle and support colleagues to develop robust, well aligned plans at various levels of the organisation.
The successful applicant will bring a range of skills and knowledge to this challenging role, including:
- The ability to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders, respecting completing demands and competing demands.
- Ability to think and plan strategically, tactically and creatively.
- Experience of leading aspects of the NHS Planning Cycle.
- A track record of supporting the successful delivery of business cases.
- Excellent communication skills including complex report writing and presentation skills.
- Experience of managing strategic programmes and projects.
- A comprehensive understanding of the healthcare environment and latest policy developments.
- The ability to work in a dynamic environment and embrace emerging workstreams.
Main duties of the job
The purpose of this role is to provide senior strategic and planning support (including project management) to our clinical divisions, corporate areas and partners.
The post holder will advise and support the Deputy Director of Strategy and Planning in fulfilling a wider range of objectives and delivering against a number of key responsibilities, including:
- Developing, supporting, delivering and appropriately monitoring the benefits of the Trust's strategies.
- Supporting the formation and monitoring of the Trust's short, medium and long term planning activities.
- Developing collaborative partnerships across Derbyshire, Staffordshire, Nottinghamshire and Leicestershire as described in the respective plans and strategies.
- Playing a key role in working with partners to drive the introduction of innovative care models that improve quality, safety, outcomes (including financial) and patient experience.
The role of the Strategy and Planning Manager covers a broad and diverse agenda, playing a key role within our hospitals as well as across the wider system.
