Job summary
Are you a highly skilled and motivated registered nurse with excellent communication and interpersonal skills and looking for a challenge?
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Paediatric Dermatology Team as a Band 6 Specialist Nurse on a part time basis.
Demonstrable post registration experience is essential, experience in dermatology would be desirable but a passion and willingness to care for patients with skin conditions and guide them through what can sometimes be quite complex treatment pathways is more important as full training will be given.
An ability to manage and prioritise patient care must be proven as you will be expected to be able to make decisions about patient care with the support of the wider dermatology team, senior nurse, on call registrars and consultants.
Main duties of the job
You will be expected to provide a high level of care mainly within an outpatient setting across multiple sites across the trust, occasionally you may need to help the on call team educate patients and carers of inpatients or emergencies.
The successful candidate will initially be supporting medical clinics and the senior nurse and gaining knowledge and experience in a variety of skin conditions and settings. With support and training they would be expected to eventually undertake nurse led clinics and stand in for the senior nurse in certain circumstances in their absence.
